We envisage a dynamic, high-profile future for the Indian ICT SMEs. Sheer
talent and capacity for work are already in place - we believe great strides
can be made, with the right encouragement. Specifically, the lack of international
recognition and access for SMEs, the dearth of cohesive standards, the
bureaucratic structure of larger organizations and the fragmented nature
of the industry have to be overcome.
Our mission is to aid the SMEs and the Industry in general to overcome
these road-blocks. We undertake R&D initiatives, including new technology
recognition and adoption, enabling the development of strategic business
partnerships, providing a framework for effective networking, laying down
the groundwork for international expansion as well as through advocacy
in a variety of high-level national and international fora.
INCITE runs for the best IST web-site
The best IST Project Website Award" competition
is a part of the IST event 2006. It is open to all projects within the
Information Society Technologies (IST) priority of the EU’s Sixth
Framework Programme (FP6) for research and development. The IST Project
must have a dedicated website for the project itself.
INCITE is an ambitious initiative responding to the need
of giving Euro-Indian R&D relations a permanent co-operation basis.
INCITE is funded by the European Commission under the IST (Information
SocietyTechnologies) programme. The INCITE project allows IT companies
in India to find the right partners in Europe.This is one of the 1st IST
projects awarded, which has an Indian Consortium! (ITSMA, C-DAC, IIIT-B,
IISc)
