Information Technology Policy
The Government of Orissa has recognized Electronics and Software as a thrust area and a priority sector because of its great potential for employment and foreign exchange generation. The Orissa State Electronics Development Corporation (OSEDC) has been designated as the nodal agency for promotion of electronic hardware and software industries in the State. A Software Division under this Corporation will be organised to attract and guide software industries..
Tourism Policy
Endowed with rich cultural heritage and bestowed liberally with bounties of nature, Orissa is a kaleidoscope of past splendours and present glory: a fascinating State with majestic monuments, beautiful beaches, sprawling Chilika lake, luxuriant forests, captivating wildlife, exquisite handicrafts, traditional tribes, enchanting classical and folk dances and music and above all a hospitable and peace-loving people. In other words, Orissa has rich tourism potential to attract a large number of tourists, both foreign and domestic.
The State will encourage and facilitate activities that will promote tourism consistent with the tradition and culture. The State will primarily act as a promoter and catalyst to create an environment for planned and sustained development of tourism.

Incentives for Marketing Support
The policy of the State Government is to ensure that State Government departments and agencies under the control of the State Government purchase their requirements of store items from industries located inside the State. In order to achieve this, the products of industries located inside the State will be eligible for the facility of preferential purchase by State Government departments and agencies under its control. Central Government agencies and private/joint sector industries located inside the State will be persuaded to accord similar facilities to products of local industries. Simultaneously, efforts will be made to bring down cost and achieve over all competitiveness of the products of local industries. New industrial units coming up in the State will be persuaded to patronize local industries/firms for construction/supply of materials.
